Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Which exact weights and colors can I select?
Everlast's US product endpoint maps Black and White to 12, 14 and 16 oz each, with a distinct SKU for all six color/weight combinations. The page's broader overlapping size-chart ranges do not create 8, 10 or 18 oz variants.
Explore this need in the finder →What do the page's material, padding and closure details establish?
The page names a full-wrist hook-and-loop strap, layered C3 closed-cell foam and a full-grain leather outer palm; it separately identifies a synthetic-leather inner palm. It names neither a specific listed wrist splint nor injection-molded or multi-density padding.
Explore this need in the finder →Does one of the listed ounce choices have a specific session recommendation?
Everlast names heavy-bag, mitt and sparring use for the model, but does not pair any of those sessions with its 12, 14 or 16 oz selectors. Confirm the required weight with your coach or gym and test wrapped-hand fit where possible.
Explore this need in the finder →The Powerlock OG Advanced is a current, ounce-listed hook-and-loop boxing glove in Everlast’s US catalogue. This review assesses the exact Advanced product page and six mapped variants; it is separate from the similarly named Powerlock OG Pro Training, OG Pro Bag and OG Pro Fight models. I have not bought, worn or tested it. The discussion below is a source-based reading of the manufacturer’s model details, not a claim of personal fit or performance.
Six selectable versions, not a size-chart estimate
The official Color selector lists Black and White, while the Size selector and variant data list 12, 14 and 16 oz. Each color/weight combination has its own SKU: Black 12 oz (009283636395), 14 oz (009283636401) and 16 oz (009283636418); White 12 oz (009283637453), 14 oz (009283637460) and 16 oz (009283637477). The hero image shows a Black-selected pair. The endpoint confirms six product variants, not three sizes with color assumed.
Everlast also prints a general chart with overlapping 8–12, 12–14, 14–16 and 16–18 oz bands. It adds body-weight and hand-circumference ranges, but it does not replace the exact variant map: there is no 8, 10 or 18 oz SKU in this product endpoint. Treat the chart as broad manufacturer guidance, not proof that an unlisted ounce is orderable, a guarantee for a wrapped hand, or a rule for a particular gym. The chart’s ranges overlap at their boundaries, so a buyer should verify the selected size and the correct Black or White SKU rather than infer a missing variant from the table.
What Everlast specifies about the construction
The page identifies a full-wrist hook-and-loop closure strap and describes an ergonomic grip bar and secured thumb. That is useful when comparing a quick wrap closure with a lace-up model, but it does not establish one of the finder’s named splint systems. Everlast uses general “wrist closure” and support language without specifying single-layer foam splinting, Dual-X with four Fusion splints, or Dual-X with three padded splints. A broad strap feature should not be converted into a specific support classification or an injury-prevention promise.
For materials, the model description calls out a full-grain leather outer palm and a premium synthetic-leather inner palm. The full-grain designation therefore applies to a named part, not a blanket finding that every glove surface is leather. The page calls the foam C3 FOAM, identifies it as contoured closed-cell foam, and describes a layered construction intended to guide the hand toward a natural fist position. This supports comparing the model under multi-layer foam; it is not an independent measurement of cushioning, force transfer, durability, or protection. Everlast also names its EVERDRI moisture-management lining and ventilated palms, but supplies no measured drying time or airflow result.
Session guidance is at model level
Everlast explicitly names sparring, heavy-bag workouts and mitt work as intended uses for the Advanced. However, the selector and product copy are presented separately. The page does not say that 12 oz is for the bag, 14 oz for pads, or 16 oz for sparring, nor does it give a size-by-session table. We therefore keep the exact-weight selector and model-level session statement as separate evidence plans. A finder result for bag work can show that the model is named for that session; adding an exact-ounce requirement asks for a documented arrangement that the source does not map.
There is no named partner-drill recommendation in the exact-page copy. Do not treat the mention of mitt work as proof that the brand specifically classifies this model for partner drills; those are separate questionnaire options. For sparring, confirm the required weight, contact rules and glove approval with the coach or gym. The manufacturer’s model-level use statement is not a substitute for local equipment rules or a fitting decision.
How it differs from the neighboring Powerlock names
Everlast’s Powerlock naming spans materially different products. The OG Pro Training Hook & Loop has its own product handle and a broader selector, while the OG Pro Bag Gloves are letter-sized and positioned for bag and pad work. OG Pro Fight is another separate fight-glove listing. This Advanced page has its own product identifier, handle, six-SKU color/weight map and model-level bag, mitt and sparring description. A matching logo or “Powerlock OG” phrase is not enough to merge these models or transfer a chart, construction detail or task plan from one to another.
The Advanced’s hook-and-loop cuff is distinct from a lace-up closure, but the source does not establish that it offers better support. Its full-grain outer-palm and C3 layered-foam labels support construction comparisons; neither answers how it will feel on a particular hand or how long it will last.
Checks before choosing a size
- Verify the exact “Powerlock OG Advanced” name, Black or White selector and 12/14/16 oz size together; do not substitute the OG Pro Training, Bag or Fight model.
- Use your gym’s required ounce and session rules, especially for sparring. The manufacturer names several uses but does not connect one to a specific ounce.
- Compare the manufacturer’s hand-circumference chart with your wrapped hand, but treat it as guidance rather than a fit guarantee. Check the seller’s current return conditions before relying on an at-home fit check.
- If full-grain leather matters, note that the page specifies the outer palm and separately names a synthetic-leather inner palm. If a named splint, partner-drill recommendation or exact cushioning result is essential, this page does not supply it.
