Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Which sizes does the Classic Spider-Man selector list, and does it give an age range?
The selector lists Youth 6 oz and 8 oz, plus Adult 12 oz and 16 oz. Its chart pairs youth 6 oz with 61–80 lb and an average age of 6–10, and youth 8 oz with 81–95 lb and an average age of 11–14. The adult chart pairs 12 oz with 110–240 lb and 8–9.5 in (20–24 cm) hand circumference, and 16 oz with 240+ lb and 10+ in (25+ cm). These are maker references, not individual fit guarantees; check the exact size guide with wraps.
Explore this need in the finder →Does Hayabusa connect a Classic Spider-Man weight to a particular training session?
Its exact product page names bag work and pads for the model but does not divide those uses by ounce size or list a sparring plan. Confirm the required weight and approved glove with the coach or gym before choosing a session-specific pair.
Explore this need in the finder →How does the Classic Spider-Man model differ from Classic Captain America?
The two Classic pages show different licensed artwork and variant SKUs, but both describe an E1-based glove with the same Youth 6/8 and Adult 12/16 oz selector, dual-splinted support, single stretch strap, injection-molded foam specification and model-level bag/pad use. The Spider-Man chart adds size guidance, but the pages do not establish a performance difference between the character editions.
Explore this need in the finder →This is a desk-based assessment of the exact Hayabusa US listing, not a hands-on review. It evaluates the model and the manufacturer’s published information; it does not claim use, testing, measured performance, comfort, durability or injury prevention.
Which Spider-Man glove this page covers
The product page names Marvel’s Classic Spider-Man Boxing Gloves, identifies the selected Red/Blue Youth 6 oz variant as SKU MCBG-SM-6, and lists four size-specific variants: Youth 6 oz and 8 oz, plus Adult 12 oz and 16 oz. The page’s variant data associates those sizes with MCBG-SM-6, MCBG-SM-8, MCBG-SM-12 and MCBG-SM-16. Those codes distinguish this Classic artwork and size run; they are not evidence about a different edition’s construction.
This assessment is not for the separate Marvel’s Spider-Man page in the Hero Elite collection. The Classic listing says it is based on Hayabusa’s E1 glove and describes one stretch strap with dual-splinted support. The Hero Elite Captain America review, by contrast, documents the T3-derived Dual-X layout with four Fusion splints and a hook-and-loop closure. A shared character franchise does not establish a shared glove model.
Published construction, and a wording gap
The Classic product page specifies dual-splinted wrist support, a single stretch strap, injection-molded foam knuckle protection, an ergonomic thumb position, a soft inner lining and breathable mesh. It does not name an outer-shell material or state that the thumb is attached. “Stretch strap” is not enough to classify this model as lace-up, hook-and-loop or the separately defined adaptive stretch closure used by another reviewed glove.
There is also an unresolved difference in the same manufacturer page: its specification list calls out injection-molded foam, while a later promotional section describes multi-layered foam. The page does not explain whether these labels refer to different layers or to the same construction. This assessment records the explicit specification and does not assign the separate multi-layer-foam questionnaire tag from that broader statement. Neither phrase is a test result or a basis for claiming a protection advantage.
Use and weight belong together
Hayabusa names bag work and pads for the model as a whole. It does not say that one of those uses belongs to a particular ounce size, and the inspected page does not list partner drills or sparring. The fact record therefore keeps Youth 6/8 oz and Adult 12/16 oz as distinct operating plans, each with the same model-level bag-and-pad description. That makes the exact 6, 8, 12 and 16 oz options visible to a finder without turning the ounces into a session recommendation.
If you need gloves for partner work, competition or sparring, ask the coach or gym which weight and glove type is accepted before comparing this listing. A bag-and-pad description is not a sparring approval. The size selector also stops at 16 oz, so an 18 oz request does not match this model.
Read the chart as guidance, not a fit promise
The product’s size-chart image gives more than the selector. For Youth 6 oz, it lists 61–80 lb (27–36 kg) and an average age of 6–10; for Youth 8 oz, it lists 81–95 lb (37–43 kg) and an average age of 11–14. For Adults, it pairs 12 oz with 110–240 lb and 8–9.5 in (20–24 cm) hand circumference, then 16 oz with 240+ lb and 10+ in (25+ cm) hand circumference. The adult body-weight rows meet at 240 lb, so someone at that boundary should confirm the maker’s guidance rather than assume a single unambiguous cutoff.
Those are the manufacturer’s chart recommendations, not a guarantee that the glove pocket will fit a particular hand, wraps or wrist. The chart’s age and body-weight ranges should not be treated as measurements of ability or as a substitute for a gym’s rule. Check the current size guide, try the exact size with training wraps where possible, and stop if the glove forces the hand into an uncomfortable position.
How it compares with other Classic models
Marvel’s Classic Spider-Man and Classic Captain America are separately named products with different artwork and variant codes. Their exact product pages both describe an E1-based glove, the Youth 6/8 and Adult 12/16 oz selector, dual-splinted support, a single stretch strap, an injection-molded foam specification, and model-level bag/pad use. The Spider-Man page’s size-chart image supplies the age, weight and hand-circumference guidance; the Classic Captain America page does not show that same chart in its reviewed material. Apart from that evidence difference and the artwork, the sources do not establish a performance distinction between the two Classic editions.
That is a useful contrast with Hero Elite Captain America, which has its own T3-derived Dual-X and four-Fusion-splint specifications, an Adult 12/16 oz and Youth 10 oz selector, and no session-by-weight guidance. The three names should not be collapsed into one family-wide set of facts. Choose between the Classic character designs on the exact edition you want, then separately verify the construction and selected variant.
Practical buying checks
Before choosing, confirm that the listing is Marvel’s Classic Spider-Man, not the Hero Elite Spider-Man model or another Classic character. Check the Red/Blue design and the exact Youth or Adult size in the cart; confirm the adult hand-circumference guidance or youth chart row is relevant to the wearer; and test fit with wraps if possible. Finally, verify that the coach or gym accepts the glove for the intended session and review the seller’s return terms. The page does not substantiate an outer-material specification, a sparring plan, or a claim of lasting comfort or service life.
